My grade level currently has a free trial for Nearpod. We love it, but the subscription is pricey. I know the companies need to earn a profit, but not every school has a big budget for these types of tools & it isn't very pleasant to be priced out.

Susan Kotch I’ve never used it. Know lots of people who have. It is just a new practice worksheet to me. Wasn’t attracted to it but understand why people use it

Dennis Dill AKA Green Dragon I've suggested that the only way device management tools can work well is if there is another device dedicated to the monitoring software. I did this in the classroom and would just check periodically. Otherwise we have your situation happening.

To monitor chromebook usage, we use 'Lightspeed'. It's a good way to make sure kids are on task and to monitor what they are doing. Gives the ability to lock a student's screen when they are heading elsewhere. Also gives the tech team a heads up based on key words.

Dennis Dill AKA Green Dragon Withy fourth graders at the time (8-9 years ago), it was enough for them to know that I could monitor, so I didn't have to actively monitor very often. Nowadays? I think it is a losing battle at times.
