Hedgerow trees are hugely important to bats - particularly the rare greater horseshoes that have a stronghold in the SW. These bats use hedgerows as corridors dipping into fields in search of insects, and use trees to rest during a long night of foraging. #SaveDevonsTrees

DWT's two tree nurseries, Meeth Quarry and Broadclyst, use two methods to grow trees - cell growing, which uses a compost cell to grow, and bare root growing, which uses prepared outdoor beds.
