It’s #PloverAppreciationDay! Last week I was lucky to see 2 #KentishPlovers at Vilanova i la Geltru, Spain. I grew up on these beaches and didn’t know about birds nesting on the beach until my work with Hooded Plover. That’s why educating the public is crucial! #MyPloverStory
Better than last year but still not enough. Costal breeding pops of #Kentishplovers in West Europe are declining. Pop of #Tagus #saltpans (#Alcochete ) is a "good" example of what this species is facing: habitat loss and #predation rise. @CESAM_Univ Eco Flyway
No luck recovering GLS from #Kentishplovers. The ns of #waders in stopover in #Tagus_estuary are increasing, good ns of ad #Dunlins and Kplovers in active wing #moult. 92 birds caught, including one Dunlin from the UK. #Migration #Conservation Eco Flyway @CESAM_Univ
