St Colmán's Monastery • Inishbofin

After the Synod of Whitby, St Colmán established a community of Irish and Saxon monks on the beautiful Connemara island of Inishbofin. Though little remains of his early foundation, the ruins of a 14th century church can be seen on the site.

This is one of the Common Rosefinch's on Inishbofin who had a luck escape, being stalked by the local cat as he feed in the garden, 👏🦊😍
