Visited Apopo in Siem Reap to learn about (and hold!) the mine-clearing APOPO. An amazing NGO whose furry (& human) staff are saving lives right across Cambodia 🇰🇭

Enjoy this 7 second timelapse of Ezron demonstrating the rats’ explosive detection nose capabilities 🐀

Meet Jenny and Zefania, two hero rats working with APOPO in Cambodia. These ladies are trained to smell landmines that can then be identified to help keep land safe. Their work is inspiring and a true testament to what rats can achieve!

APOPO began training HeroRATs for search and rescue. The rats have a great sense of smell, and their size is useful because they can penetrate into areas with dense rubble and debris to search for survivors.

Doğal bir afette, bir fare tarafından kurtarılmak ister miydiniz?

Fareler, depremde çöken binalarda enkaz altında kalan ve su baskınlarına uğrayan insanları bulmak üzere eğitiliyorlar.

On my visit to the latest UNESCO World Heritage site, Koh Ker in this week, I saw the de-mining team with their Apopo HeroRats working close to the temples and the Koh Ker village to make the area safe. Fantastic work.
