I’m literally ‘pylon them on’ 😬 in Bedford today. A Rivet in good condition at the base of this Transmission Tower on the Great Ouse. There’s another one on the other side of the river too but a bit of a walk round to get there.

This is one of the less common Benchmarks, set into a stone step at the front of a house. The arrow is clear enough, but. what’s known as the ‘Pivot’ is just a small depression at the head that would have temporarily held a steel ball to provide the datum.
