This afternoon (July 16), a shift in the wind caused the Young Creek wildfire (VA1735) to grow quickly and cross #BCHwy20 .

#BellaCoola and #AnahimLake crews hav e stopped the ditching and grading in #HeckmanPass along #BCHwy20 over the long weekend. We will be resuming next Tuesday.

#BCWildfire is conducting prescribed burns this weekend within the Cariboo Fire Centre in partnership with local First Nations and industry partners. Burning will take place along #BCHwy20 and in the Williams Lake Community Forest, west of #WilliamsLake . Smoke will be visible.

Personnel and air support are responding to the Dripping Water wildfire (C50100), located about 3 km north of the community of Tl’etinqox and 9 km southeast of Alexis Creek. The fire is approx 80 ha in size. Smoke is visible from #BCHwy20 and surrounding communities. #BCWildfire
