Having to cancel a patient’s hip replacement surgery tomorrow bc insurance still hasn’t approved it. Scheduled the surgery 10/17/24 but insurance won’t let us start approval until 1/2/25, which we did, then they drag their feet, put us on hold, won’t respond. Sigh….

Now to the point in Arkansas where a major insurer is routinely denying knee scope surgery in a rugby player with an acute, traumatic, symptomatic and MRI-proven meniscal tear. What’s next—having to do physical therapy before they’ll cover hip fracture surgery? #orthotwitter
