Regardless of who you were, it is best to be a gardener in a garden. The man who cannot leave "the warrior" at the garden gate will struggle not to bring the war inside with him.

Okay weight training is great for people as they age so good for RFKjr but, like... C'mon. That's 115 lbs for 5, plus a few more assisted. There's a 72 year old in my gym who reps 225. This video isn't "wow he's a beast" it's "aww good for him"

What a great example of a straw man. No health org has ever asserted that the chemical nicotine causes cancer. It's addictive, but divorced from the other carcinogenic substances in tobacco it's harmless. This is the premise of nicorette gum, which has been around since the 70s.

My knee jerk was to be critical of Onosato. Just go out there and at least try to win the yusho with one arm. ...then I remembered that's how his oyakata ruined his own career and reconsidered. I think this is a case of the hard earned wisdom of a mentor benefitting the student.

Apropos of nothing... the last rikishi to yusho as a shin-ozeki was Terunofuji. And he went on to earn the rope the very next tournament.

Idk what that grok translation thinks is going on, but this is actually great. Kamito visibly lamenting Hoshoryu's loss is great teammate stuff you don't normally get to see in sumo.

If I'm Hoshoryu, I spend the next 3 weeks getting knee PT, and then the 3 weeks after that camped out at Ajigawa beya. Literally. He should make up a cot next to the dohyo so he's there in the morning waiting when Aonishiki shows up lol

Not only is the prospect of having three Yokozuna in their prime exciting, I love the symmetry of their 3-way rivalry. Onosato can't beat Hoshoryu Hoshoryu can't beat Aonishiki Aonishiki can't beat Onosato. That's the sort of parity that will make for a fun, competitive era.

I don't wish ill on Himukamaru, Tochitaikai, Hakuyozan, or Takakento... ...but I kinda do? I'm dreading a scenario where they all end up with promotable records and Enho is forced into Ms1e for May. That would be a devastating outcome.

Wakatakakage has (potentially) the same triceps injury I suffered last May. Knowing how hard the recovery has been for me (surgery + 6 months PT), I can't help but think that might be it for him, and that is very sad. Hopefully it's not as bad as it might be.
