Today’s Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy was shameful. President Zelenskyy represents a nation whose citizens have sacrificed their lives and shed blood for the freedoms they cherish. He deserves respect, not humiliation.

"Zelensky had no good options at the WH. "He walked into an ambush w/a president who empathizes w/the dictator who wants to seize Ukraine. "Everyone who spent years warning about Trump’s affinity for Putin had exactly this disastrous outcome in mind." theatlantic.com/politics/archi…

Good point. Why put hope in negotiating a new agreement with the United States when it just shredded the current agreement? Free markets depend on trust. So does free trade.

It cost two world wars and a great depression to teach 20th century Republicans why isolationism and protectionism were wrong. Let's hope that the education of 21st century Republicans will cost less - but it's already expensive enough.

This isn't about Zelensky. It isn't even about Ukraine. It's about preserving the entire post-1945 international order, which rests on the idea that you can't just help yourself to a slice of another country's territory. washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/390138…

Today’s trade deal to significantly reduce Chinese tariffs on canola and other Canadian products is very good news for Canada and Saskatchewan. This deal is a very positive signal that will restore existing trade volumes and open avenues for further opportunities for Canadians.

What needs to happen, fast: a defence and economic alliance of the democracies, minus the United States. Europe plus Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, maybe the South American democracies.

🇨🇦 Once again, as unreal as it seems, I've got to hand it to Scott Moe for stepping up and speaking up for Canada. Now, about Danielle Smith...

Tonight, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to end tariffs on Canada. An important victory with more work ahead. Thank you to every member from both parties who stood up in support of free trade and economic growth between our two great countries. Let’s end the tariffs and

Astonishing. Four years into defending themselves from Putin’s brutal invasion, outmanned, outgunned, after suffering enormous losses and being abandoned by the US, Ukraine is still pushing back, now with a tactical counter offensive. In an age of growing nihilism, the

This country is in for a very rocky 18 months or two years. If the Conservatives allow themselves to be know as the party that wouldn’t stand up to Trump, or to secessionists — or as the party that sided with either — it will spend another generation, possibly two, out of power.

Could not be more proud of you, Team Canada.   You’re coming home with 21 hard-fought Olympic medals. Though what Canadians will remember most is how you wore the Maple Leaf: with pride, with grit, and with determination.
