The architecture of the Greek amphitheatres and the physical staging of Medea have been my sole focus today. Tonight I’ll finish reading D.A. Prince’s absolutely beautiful ‘The Bigger Picture’ (HappenStance Press), ready to discuss it with her tomorrow at Notts Stanza! Glorious day. ♥️

Ever since Jo Whiley played Astral Plane on Wednesday night, the phrase, ‘Alexa, play Say She She’, has never been far from my lips. Such luxurious harmonies. So warm, but so cool at the same time. Funky, mellow, and kind’ve edgy all at once. Glad I had the radio on. C’est Si Bon.

I saw Dyer’s #Othello at the cinema last year and it’s extraordinary. Paul Hilton is just mesmerising as Iago and the ensemble are beautifully choreographed. The lighting gives the production an expressionistic feel and Tanya Franks gave Emilia new depths. Terera was wonderful.♥️

I’m finally going to see ELVANA Elvis Fronted Nirvana on March 30th ROCK CITY and I cannot wait. I’m going with long-serving fans, who’ve seen them here in Nottingham and at Glastonbury. Well why wouldn’t we want to know what the offspring of Elvis and Nirvana would sound like eh?🎸🥁💃🏻

You can’t beat a Saturday matinee. I’m looking forward to my first visit to #VictoriaPalaceTheatre to see Hamilton this afternoon. It’s going to be so helpful having this fresh in my mind when I discuss it with students later this semester. #theatre #WestEnd #LondonBaby♥️

Hamilton at #VictoriaPalaceTheatre blew me away today. No spoilers, but I cried real tears. The whole cast are phenomenal and Lemuel Knights just smashed it out of the park as Lafayette/Jefferson. ♥️ the choreography/use of the revolve. Impeccable score. Believe the hype.

It was a pleasure to meet some fabulous PhD students at Nottingham English Welcome Fair today. It’s fascinating to hear about the diverse projects these researchers are engaged in: I look forward to updates! And as well as being intelligent, talented, and creative, they make great cake!

I’m shell-shocked after watching @markthomasinfo in England & Son Lakeside Arts this evening. Ed Edwards’ script is powerful, dynamic, and innovative, and MT’s performance is real, raw, and utterly compelling, as he oscillates between innocence & brutal experience. Incredible. 🙌

Really excited to be running a #Viking event for Being Human Festival 2023! We'll have kennings, myths, artefacts, and some of our wonderful UoN CSVA student volunteers for a family-friendly activity day. Where better than Toton, centre of a whole category of Viking #placenames... ?

I just spent a glorious hour in Nottingham Castle’s gallery watching Nottingham English students perform Medieval Stories, Saints and Celebrations as part of the Being Human Festival. UoN students and colleagues clearly worked their socks off to polish this little gem! Fab performance and talks!

I’m pleased to see that, even in this increasingly virtual world, people are still willing to make the effort to install traffic cones on top of bus shelters. I see you.

I had the best evening Nottingham Racecourse on Saturday - there was a beer festival, the horses were beautiful 🐎, and this baby won me one hundred British pounds! Added to this, I had the best company a woman could wish for, and my incredibly talented friend was running the show! ♥️
