It seems a while since I’ve seen the sky so blue! Lovely to feel the sunshine on my face at Arne Nature Reserve today in Dorset. RSPB #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #sunshine #nature
Before cutting your lawn and treating it with weedkiller, consider how many creatures love living in long grass. Let grass grow lusciously long and help wildlife thrive. #nomow may #nomow #urbannature #buzzandscuttle

This sprawling, old apple tree seems to look more and more beautiful every spring. Fruit trees are such a great food source for our pollinators. Even on a dull day this one was covered in bees. We’ve lost 97% of our wildflower meadows! Roadside verges can be species-rich remnants of those meadows! Where it’s safe to do so, we need to encourage our councils to relax the mowing & allow these habitat corridors to thrive BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland Little Green Space 🐝 Plantlife Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
Ancient Woodlands cover just 2.5% of UK. They’re complex, wonderful, irreplaceable ecosystems. Here are 4 Ancient Woodland Indicators seen today in Hampshire: Bluebell, Yellow Archangel, Solomon’s Seal & Wood Anemone. Dandelions are so important for our spring pollinators. I found this lovely patch today and watched a couple of bees, absolutely covered in pollen, enjoying a few minutes out of the cold wind. #InternationalDayoftheDandelion #wildflowerhour BSBI: Botanical Society of Britain & Ireland Dandelion Appreciation Society #nature
A beautiful island of yellow in a sea of purple. I just love our woodlands in Spring. This patch of Lesser Celandine looks so lovely with the backdrop of Bluebells. I found a patch of Cuckooflower today and within a few moments a female Orange Tip appeared and began laying eggs! Fantastic to see! I just wish I could persuade our PC not to mow our local wet meadow! I didn't really feel that my furnished apartment needed re-plastering. The nuthatches feel differently. I wouldn't generally expect to re-plaster shelves... and do they have an issue with my choice of picture???? What's next?😲😂

The insects, particularly Bee-flies, are loving the Primroses! I also spotted one of my favourite bees today, the Tawny Mining Bee! Beautiful. And a huge Oil Beetle!
