Today three people reminded me that it's the last day of the quarter. They reflect on it like a finished sprint, entering the "holiday quarter" with joy. I'm still not used to it. For anyone who wants something from me, I'll be just as available as always!

Geneva suddenly shows a clear bimodal distribution of hotel stay prices. Could this be caused by two large wealth groups coexisting with each other?

My previous boss deleted the whole company from Linkedin, and now I have a random grey entry on my page where I spent 2.5 years tinkering

Making a lateral career move. Worked at application level a while, now going deeper into infrastructure. I love computer vision and giving it up needs purpose. The insight: video models are as big as LLMs. Joining a team for LLM training infra in RL. That's the move

There are definitely benefits to centralized banks, and the money is not "yours". At least in the US, they can protect your interests. If another big corporation took money from you, you are able to dispute. I had a situation with Booking com ($2,500), and my bank returned funds

Do your own research. The friends of mine told me that the "Book of Mormon" is a cool satirical musical, written by the creators of South Park. Without extra research I went to see it, and it's a complete disaster

It's interesting how LLM-serving companies, by launching both a consumer product (chat) and a developer product (API) early on, set a good tone for everyone to release an API sooner. Unlike when companies like Instagram or Booking started
