“Elite” youth teams are an invention of adults, for adults.

When kids are selected young, it causes:

1. More sport-specific practice for the few
2. A false sense of early growth
3. A “radiating effect” of needing more sport-specific practice to get picked

Many such cases of a 405 squat turning into a 275lb squat when proper depth is demanded

Always skeptical of numbers people throw out.

Be honest with yourself and don't accept high squats.

If you can't squat 315 to depth don't worry about optimal hypertrophy stimulus for muscle growth

You are weak, and that is your muscle growth problem

Be a YAC menace. Slants don't have to be gains of 12.

Typical high school football team runs what, maybe 60-80 offensive plays. About 15-20 plays per quarter, 2-3 possessions. Does that sound about right?

Then tell me why you have 40+ different passing plays, 10+ run schemes, and 17 trick plays.

Repetition and mastery matters.
