This month, SUNY's GYB will highlight a few organizations that we have partnered with to help provide support to victims of sexual assault. Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim assistance organization, operating a network of programs across New York City communities.

For Pride Month, we would like to highlight a few important figures in LGBTQ+ history. First up, Nancy Cárdenas who was a Mexican actor, poet, writer, and feminist. She was a playwright and one of the first Mexican people to publicly declare her homosexuality. #HappyPrideMonth

Bayard Rustin was an African American leader in social movements for civil rights, socialism, and gay rights. He was also a highly influential advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but due his open sexuality during those times, he was forced to assist Dr. King from the shadows.
