HUGE NEWS! On the first day of the largest Tuition Strike in American history, Columbia has met one of our important demands to formally commit to FOSSIL FUEL DIVESTMENT, now and "for the foreseeable future." We have power when they stand together. #CUtuitionstrike

As a Columbia University alumn, I am proud to stand in solidarity with students. This is a critical step in addressing the #climatecrisis and showing the power of the people when we come together to demand change. Congratulations!✊🏽#CUtuitionstrike

🥳🥳🥳 From the #CUtuitionstrike to the #HuntsPointStrike, New York is proving that the working class doesn't need saviors -- we will force change ourselves by flexing our collective power. Great work everyone!

UPDATE: We have already raised $4,100+ to cover these late fees for students who cannot afford them. Columbia University it is DISGUSTING that your students have to take on this burden during a pandemic when you have an $11 BILLION endowment and a multimillionaire president.

Last fall, UManchester Rent Strike won a 30% rent cut. Today, 53 British universities are on rent strike. The #CUtuitionstrike has already won increased financial aid & fossil fuel divestment. Next fall, there should be a NATION-WIDE TUITION STRIKE! Here's how to get started:

We have worked with UChicago Student Action to create a tuition strike guide with sample petitions, demands letters, press releases, FAQ’s, and more. docs.google.com/document/d/1jN…

Columbia finally responded to years of student organizing and divested from fossil fuels on the first day of our #CUtuitionstrike. If you want to organize a strike at your school, here is how to get started!

#CUtuitionstrike coverage in the New York Times! We need to clarify though: the strike is about much more than online classes. We strike to create a more democratic university and affordable education beyond the pandemic. nytimes.com/2021/01/29/wor…

We've grown used to operating under a political narrative of cynicism for most of our lives. But what if for a decade, we believed that a better world was possible, and tried to build it together, and avert the climate crisis? Come build it with us: smvmt.link/GJ4A
