We strongly recommend this release if you were experiencing packet stalls using Zenarmor / Suricata (IPS) on vlan(4), lagg(4) and other ethernet drivers which do not have native netmap support. This release ships significant improvements to #netmap emulated mode OPNsense

zenarmor OPNsense I’m curious of the performance difference between native and emulated with those enhancements in place.

The scope of this phase of the project was stability and reliability improvements. Having said that, for the adapters tested (ix, igb), the performance seems to be promising. Please do report your test results as they'll provide valuable feedback for Phase II.

zenarmor Nice, I imagine it’s a daunting task but I’m glad to see improvements in this area especially if over time the emulated performance can be near native performance with less compatibility issues since it’s a more generic implementation.
