A lot of designers are often set on using whatever software is the most popular in the industry at any given time, but what really matters is that you deliver the work in formats that your client can use without forcing them to change their workflow altogether.

Going solo with my career was the best decision for me. Some people thrive in teams, and some people do wonders on their own. Take time and try finding what suits you. Team, size, culture, and balance don't take these lightly. Also, if someone says 'Go big or go home', run away.
