Deeper surface moisture is being outlined by the better bl cumulus and deeper clouds. Everything to the west and north is likely being mixed down from above and should be shallow. Still have some time to watch this while things moisten up.

First image is the model (HRRR for you fellow nerds) at Noon. The second are the observations at Noon. Dew points are much higher than the models are suggesting. Obs >> models.

Another topic for today's severe weather discussion: the cap. We do not expect the cap to be a factor today. When some people look at CAMS output and don't see storms, they immediately blame it on the cap. And that's not always the reason.

The HRRR continues to greatly underestimate the moisture return, and we will have to watch closely to see what impact this will have on initiation locations, storm mode, timing and tornado potential. If deeper moisture makes it to the dry line, could be trouble.

5/25 Soundings (15z): Several ACARS observations across the area came in during the 15z hour, including OKC, Tulsa, & Dallas. Big increases in low-level mositure this morning.

Waking up to some very interesting model trends I see. Imo ceiling remains roughly the same, but confidence therein is far far lower. Even as it is… let’s remember that all it takes is 1 to go down in the books

We're at 91 tornadoes thus far in 2024, the 6th-highest total on record in Oklahoma through May. Mother Nature has definitely overachieved this spring, and today's potential could be the highest we've seen yet *CLICK FOR EMBIGGENATION*

Also, people are going to focus on the worst case scenario here, as we've seen with several events, all it takes is one storm to ruin someone's day. There's still a lot of uncertainty. Best thing to do is just pay attention.

Couple of points of clarification.

Don't focus on the CAM solutions explicitly, they will be wrong in the placement and character of storms.

We wont know exactly where or how many storms may develop until they do.

Follow trusted sources and stay weather aware. All will be ok
