Looks like both Kirkcaldy's height appliance and Dunfermline's height appliance are both busy at separate jobs tonight. Now imagine that after September 4th. How long will you have to wait then? #CutsLeaveScars

Today I met with FBU Scotland at McDonald Road Fire Station. We discussed the cuts and job loses our fire services are facing. We owe our firefighters so much more. They must have the people and equipment they need to keep us all safe. They shall continue to have my support.

These cuts to Fife appliances will have a detrimental impact on rural communities within Fife. These appliances regularly back up RDS stations both at incidents and during stand by cover. These cuts will have serious consequences!! #CutsLeaveScars FBU Scotland FBU East

Seems an apt time to share this video from 2016 about the impact of cuts on the London Fire Brigade, delayed response times & the tragic consequences of reducing fire cover. The parallels to Scotland in 2023 should be a cause for concern to everyone. youtu.be/VWQ1QvQM2Xw

N05A1 in action. What's going to happen with this kind of incident in Fife after 8am tomorrow, when this height appliance, a fire engine from Methil, Glenrothes and Dunfermline are removed from Service? This incident had fire engines from most of Fife Fire Stations.

Was an absolute honour to be asked to create this memorial firepit in honor of brave firefighter Barry Martin who was fatally hurt while battling the fire at Jenner’s store in January Retweets would be really appreciated #scottishfireandrescue

Quite a thread celebrating a decade of the single Scottish Fire & Rescue Service. Scot Gov need to acknowledge that the SFRS operational decisions they are hiding behind are driven by 10yrs of under investment, & they are now willful deepening the crisis. #CutsLeaveScars

10 fire engines removed was meant to ensure enough staff to crew all the others - since Sept 4 things have continued to get worse with appliances off the run and stations left empty. What’s it going to take for ⁦Scottish Government⁩ to listen? thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/perth-…

In the last decade, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has seen: ✂️£64m real terms budget cut 👷1,200 jobs lost ⏱️Response times increase by a minute I support FBU Scotland's fight to ensure every additional penny is spent on reversing this. 📧My letter to SFRS Chiefs:

We need to protect Scottish Firefighters' health in law. Today I asked the Minister for Community Safety to establish a joint collaboration to progress this and the much-needed routine health monitoring for firefighters. FBU Scotland
