The decrease in protected wetland area in the Lake Simcoe watershed since 2018 is 10,160 hectares. As people lose their home insurance while climate change-fueled flood risk increases, it would be better to just protect the wetlands, and avoid future costs. #WorldWetlandsDay2025

Under the #LakeSimcoe Protection Plan, watershed wetlands buffers were 120 m. This #onpoli gov't reduced it to 30 m. They will bisect the watershed's most important wetland, Holland Marsh, w/ a salt spewing highway. This is not progress. This is harming, not saving, Lake Simcoe.
