Friends - tonight we are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear Sister in Christ Dorothy McGlynn after a short illness. Our church is in mourning for one who gave so much to us, our schools and the community over many years. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

This is awful news. Dorothy was a family friend as well as a PCC stalwart and school governor. Her contribution to the life of St John's is immeasurable and she will be sorely missed by everyone. We are all poorer for her passing. Thoughts with Barry and their family. RIP.

Such sad news. I have known Dorothy and her family for many years. She was always on the go. She will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to Barry and family at this sad time.

St John's Farnworth Dorothy was the epitome of everything good in a true Christian. Her service to others was remarkable and her commitment to education in Bolton though her work as a governor in numerous schools was outstanding. She will be sadly missed.

Places Project A fantastic project, thank you for everything you have done for St John's Farnworth, our church schools and for helping me to grow in confidence in my own faith!

A beautiful service at St John's Farnworth to say goodbye to Dorothy. School governor, PCC secretary, all-round fixer, great friend. Her faith and commitment to getting the job done are the bedrock on which the parish church operates. Our entire community is poorer for her passing.

St John’s Church is currently closed due to storm damage.  We worship at at 11am each Sunday at St Peter’s School, Alexandra Street, Farnworth (using the Bradford Street entrance). There are also Sunday services at St Stephen’s, Kearsley and St Saviour's Ringley, both at 9:30am

Come and join us at our Summer Fair on Saturday 22 July between 11am and 1pm. Food, games, stall and lots more. It's at Trinity Church, Market Street, Farnworth and we're open from 10am for coffee and bacon barms. Everyone is welcome!
