We were very happy to be a part of Penetanguishene seniors information day today. There were lots of great questions and fire prevention information shared.
Early this morning PFD responded to a fully involved boat fire at Hindson marina. An aggressive fire attack allowed firefighters to prevent the fire from spreading to other boats docked in very close proximity. Thank you to Midland Fire Department and Township of Tiny for tanker assistance.
Today PFD Firefighters responded to the Trans-Canada Trail for the rescue of an injured cyclist. Firefighters used Argo 1 to access the trail, locate patient, complete a medical assessment, package patient, and bring them to safety and transportation by COSParamedic Service
Thank you to Adam of Firehouse Training for the excellent training session on EV & Lithium-Ion battery fires. Lots of great information shared that will help our firefighters deal with these difficult incidents.
Thank you to COSParamedic Service for the recent training sessions with our firefighters on ambulance familiarization and the many ways we can assist Paramedics during medical emergency calls.
Congratulations to Deputy Chief Pierre Genier on his upcoming retirement! Deputy Chief Genier began as a volunteer firefighter in 1991 and was promoted to his current rank in 2009. Thank you for your many years of dedicated service to Penetanguishene and leadership to PFD!
