Everyone keeps saying “it’s a new era of marathon running”. It seems to me that every 6 months is a new era as every 6 months there is a new prototype (Kiptum and Hassan) or one time wear £400 a go (Aseefa) shoe. It has to be about racing now, doesn’t it?

And the fact we even ask about the shoes worn is the real tragedy of what’s happened with shoe tech. Just like the fact that because dozens of Kenyans have been caught doping we question the legitimacy of a Kenyan athlete breaking a world record No trust basically. Such a shame
