Successfully defended my dissertation today 🎉

Meet our Grad Stepping member,Paris Taylor. Paris holds a B.A. in psychology from Columbia University. Her research focuses on identifying stress and anxiety biomarkers in Black & Latinx populations. Paris is also exploring how tech like VR/AR can improve mental health treatment.

Primary care providers are filling a gap caused by a shortage of mental health providers that can prescribe meds, and still, patients aren't getting what they need. It's time for PA to join the 6 other states that allow specially trained psychologists to prescribe medications.

Meet Stephanie Miodus, PhD, a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in School Psychology Temple University and pre-doctoral intern at New Alternatives for Children. She focuses on working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, and trauma. Stephanie recently defended her dissertation.

April is #SexualAssaultAwareness month. The #APAGS Advocacy Coordinating Team has put together some resources and will be coming out with a fact sheet that addresses issues of intersectionality in campus sexual assault. Stay tuned! TW // sexual violence.
