This week in RE, Nursery learnt how the priest uses the Oil of Chrism and water during Baptism. Nursery were then given the opportunity to Baptise a baby doll of their choice.

Gold for the third year in a row for our efforts with sports this year! An excellent achievement for the school.

Year 1 enjoyed a Pizza Party in the Park on Monday to celebrate filling their marble jar and achieving outstanding results in their Phonics Screening Check! Well done, Year 1!

Year 1 had SO much fun on their trip to Hertfordshire Zoo this week! They especially loved seeing the lions, and being sprayed by the cheeky dinosaur!

Congratulations to Ruby in Reception, Charlie in Y1, Max and Harley in Y3 and Sienna, Vinnie and Holly in Y5 for achieving the Bronze Award in our "100 Books to Read Before You Leave St B" Challenge! They have each read 25 books and completed a review for each one!

Nursery have had a great first full week exploring their new classroom and resources, making friendships and taking part in lessons such as RE, math, phonics and topic (All about me). Thank you for a great week nursery!

Every Friday lunch time, Miss Weston hosts an Art & DT club. Today the children took part in Lego (DT) and using their engineer brains, created incredible models that they were all very proud of! Well done everyone!

Year 5 have been learning about the Ten Commandments and this week they have made their own clay tablets.

Year 6 had a fun maths lesson today exploring what happens when numbers are multiplied by powers of ten. This helped us back in class with multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000.

Year 5 have started their new maths unit on addition and subtraction. To introduce this unit, they completed a scavenger hunt where they had to answer different addition and subtraction questions in order to find the next clue in the sequence.

Year 5 investigated how you could separate different solids from each other in science. They had a mixture that consisted of a range of various solids, and they had to make their own sieve to attempt to separate as many solids from each other as possible.

Nursery have been exploring colour this week. They have learnt what primary and secondary colours are and what two colours mixed together makes a new colour.

In science today, Year 5 completed an investigation about mixing solids and liquids and then separating them after. They had to conclude whether the solids had dissolved or not after the separation.

This week nursery have been learning about prepositions in math. Each child was asked to place a teddy bear in a certain preposition using a box, such as in front of, behind, under and on top of. Great job nursery!

A purposeful and informative first School Council meeting of the year, led very capably by our Chair and Vice Chair, Tiago and Georgina. All Council members shared some very interesting thoughts and opinions about behaviour, playground equipment, challenge and fundraising ideas.

Congratulations to Isaac in Y1 & Francesca in Y3 for achieving the Gold Award in our "100 Books to Read Before You Leave St B" Challenge! They have read 75 books and earned a merit, gold sticker, certificate,bookmark,hot chocolate and a brand new book of their choice as a reward!

In RE this half term, Year 1 have been focusing on the words of Angel Gabriel and learning the Hail Mary. As part of their learning, they learnt the Hail Mary in sign language.
