Today, Feb. 12, SCASD schools will dismiss one hour early because of forecasted snowy conditions for the rest of the day. All afterschool activities & CEEL are cancelled. Dismissal times are as follows: Elementary schools dismiss at 2 p.m. Secondary schools dismiss at 2:40 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 13, SCASD schools will start with a two-hour delay because of icy road and sidewalk conditions.

The Board of Directors has approved Loren Crispell to be the district’s new athletic director. Crispell, who had been the assistant athletic director since 2017, succeeds Chris Weakland, who is retiring in June. SC Athletics

Today, March 17, SCASD schools will start with a 2-hour delay due to power outages at some of our schools from the storm yesterday. We will make a final decision about whether to have school or not by 7 a.m., and let you know then.

We used the extra time this morning to finish assessing how yesterday’s severe storm affected our district. With the exception of Ferguson Township Elementary, we can now say that we will have school today on the regular two-hour delay time schedule. FTE check email for details.

Due to the continued power outage at Ferguson Township Elementary School, we have to cancel school there for the day. Principal Treweek will provide updates, such as how this affects the academic calendar, when they become available.

April 30, all SCASD schools will be closed due to power outages at six of our 12 schools from the storm yesterday. All afterschool activities and CEEL are cancelled. Central office employees should report to work as usual because the Panorama Village building has power.

May 1, SCASD schools will start with a 2-hour delay. We believe we will be able to have school because all schools have either regained power or are operating with generators. However, we need more time to develop a plan for buses affected by lingering road closures.

High School Campus Update: Just now, police informed us that they have reopened Westerly Parkway and normal traffic patterns are back in place for this morning’s arrival. Please disregard the previous traffic instructions for the high school campus.
