right, so yesterday DESE updated the "close contact requiring quarantine" guidance, and it LITERALLY (for those masked) is "3 feet in bus or classroom; six feet everywhere else" #MAEdu

But good LORD, people, we finally have money and the best we can come up with is "acceleration academies"? I mean, c'mon. What kids who are most likely to have missed things ALSO tend to not get is experiences like summer camp. Why not give them that FOR learning?

Schools are communities. They are the places we go to grow, learn, and imagine. No community should be closed down with two months notice and no formal plan for their students. BPS should be better than this. Have they learned nothing? So sorry to hear about the Jackson Mann.

Not ALL change is bad, as moving a school to a new building is good or reconfiguring grades can meet the demands of families. But this is still DISRUPTIVE. And when you add it all up, 70% is a LOT of disruption. And the harm to kids is IMMENSE.

I'm interested in hearing from Massachusetts teachers about what it's like to be teaching in schools amid the surge in coronavirus cases and what steps districts and the state could be taking to help out. Feel free to reach out to me by email at [email protected]. Thanks!

The tiers are a positive step to increasing access to exam schools. Granting 10 points based on attendance at an “economically disadvantaged school” is duplicative, not equitable and unfairly impacts SWD. #bospoli

Imaging if every serious problem that arose you formed a working group to figure out how to solve it? How many working groups does Boston Public Schools had in the last ten years? How many of them have solved the problem they were tasked with working on?
