The largest armed uprising since the Civil War & the largest labor uprising in U.S. history, The Battle of Blair Mountain, began 101 years ago today in West Virginia. We must never forget the struggles and sacrifices of those who came before us in the labor movement.

Our union has a tremendous opportunity in front of us with historic federal investment in infrastructure & the renewable energy industry. We must seize all of the opportunities, including organizing to make "good, green union jobs" a reality for our members for decades to come.

Our union is organizing aggressively in the South to raise standards in the construction industry where the underground economy and exploitation is most rampant. It's up to us to transform our industry and the South through organization.

For decades, our union would dress up and march at Labor Day parades together to signify our mutual pride, honor and shared understanding that our trades build the world, not the bosses. Here's our painters & paperhangers marching in the 1900 Labor Day parade in Buffalo, NY.

The labor movement is the best guarantee we have to ensure the outrageously rich don't control our society totally. We have been and will always be the only force able to challenge their otherwise uncontrollable power.

Iowa has the most anti-union law you’ve never heard of. We must defeat anti-union laws like Iowa's Chapter 20 in every state in the country and make it easier, not harder, to form and join unions.

During this historic moment for the labor movement where support for unions is at its highest in decades and new organizing is rampant, the NLRB is gravely understaffed and under-resourced. It's critical that Congress finally fully funds the NLRB!

We won! Nearly 600 workers of Unforgettable Coatings Inc. are receiving a combined $3.6 million in back wages. Despite facing retaliation and even threats against their immigration status by the company, these brave workers stood firm until they got what they deserved.

Atlanta’s construction is booming, yet companies like Speciality Finishes, Inc. are keeping construction workers down rather than lifting them up. Our union’s drawing a line in the sand to raise standards in construction and transform the South for working people.

What happened to Labcorp workers who tried to affiliate with our union in Atlanta is exactly why the NLRB's Cemex ruling is so important. We intend to use the NLRB's Cemex ruling to renew these affiliation drives that were crushed illegally.
