Please check the KI press release about our recent story. In it, we found that the liver X receptor (LXR) can unlink the processes of regeneration and tumorigenesis. We provided a safe alternative to immunosuppressive drugs to treat IBD and a potential treatment for colorectal

Here is the cover art that did not make it... but is worth sharing. The light beam is oxysterols that activate LXR to promote regeneration of the intestinal tissue (bottom right), and at the same time, can target tumors and restrict their growth (upper side) Check our paper out

¿Sabías que tu intestino se regenera constantemente? Pero si este proceso se descontrola, puede derivar en cáncer. El lab de Ejv descubrió que el receptor X hepático (LXR) podría ser la clave para lograr un equilibrio perfecto. Abro hilo 👇

Indian gov't is buying a subscription to 13,000 academic journals, and then making them all available to "18 million students, faculty, and researchers" for free. The cost is $715 million over 3 years. It includes Elsevier, Nature, and AAAS. Have any other countries done this?

“My legacy is the people that came out of this lab,” said HHMI Investigator Bonnie Bassler of Princeton University. “It is my job as a mentor to best set them up for success. They're going to change the face of science.”

I want to tell you a story about computers, creativity and awe! (1/N)🧵 Sydney Brenner once said in 2012 that “nobody has actually read the human genome. I mean, computers have processed the human genome, but we all know computers are stupid.” (This is a talk I gave last week..)
