Did you know that Jambi is home to one of the world’s largest vertically integrated pulp and tissue mills? This is one of APP Sinar Mas’ business unit, PT Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry, which exports its products all over the world while contributing to a #circulareconomy.

In accelerating its transition to #renewableenergy, Lontar Papyrus collects waste products from the pulping process to be used as energy and remains reliant on biomass such as bark, palm fibre, and others for energy sources.

Additionally, waste bark and bio ash are also collected to create an organic soil conditioner to stimulate forestry growth. Watch this video to see more of Lontar Papyrus! #Sustainable

Today we are celebrating Foresters Service Day (Hari Bakti Rimbawan) in Indonesia! This is also in commemoration of the day the Department of Forestry in Indonesia was formed.

During this event, the Minister awarded outstanding Civil Servants and partners of the ministry. APP, through one of its business units, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk, was recognized as the KLHK Partner who holds PBPH and has contributed to improving HTI in 2023.

#Foresters do much more than just manage #forest areas, they also place great importance on protecting Indonesia’s forests and maintaining a healthy environment. On this occasion, we also asked two of APP’s foresters to share their message. Check out what they shared!
