The acquisition of Carlos Narvaez from the Yankees is intriguing. Evaluators see him as a potential solid backup type w/a glove-first profile. Good framer & solid arm strength. At the plate, there's swing & miss, but he'll take a walk & has some pop. Nice depth move w/upside.

Believe it or not, Luis Perales was first ranked Oct 2019. However, he's fallen out a couple times. Blaze Jordan is longest active ranked streak, since July 2020.

First video from the DSL of 17-year-old Venezuelan RHP Sadbiel Delzine. He received the largest IFA bonus ($500k) the Red Sox have given to a pitcher since 2019-20 (Chih-Jung Liu).

If this team is able to pull back into this thing, even once Slaten is back, another late-inning weapon is sorely needed. They're running everyone into the ground, including Chapman, out of necessity. Of course, every team is going to need one of those.

Tonight Walker Buehler threw 54% 4s/sinker which was his highest usage of the season (previous high was 44%). Last night Lucas Giolito threw 56% 4s/sinker which was his most since 5/6. Change in philosophy or specific game plan vs. Tampa? Something to watch next time they start.

Yordanny Monegro left his start in the 2nd inning tonight with the trainer. No idea what happened given that the Somerset broadcast spent the entire time showing the baserunners. Good stuff.

After Cooper Criswell was scratched last night Nick Sogard a late scratch tonight. Two guys on the 40 being held out is worth keeping in mind.

This morning I debated with my wife whether I should just get the Devers Green Monster jersey. This evening I just recorded a podcast about why he got traded. What a day.

With the trade of Rafael Devers, longest tenure in the Red Sox organization belongs to Bryan Mata, who signed in Jan. 2016. Incredibly, still hasn't made his MLB debut. He's got 1.5 years on 2017 draftees Tanner Houck & Kutter Crawford and IFAs Ceddanne Rafaela and Brayan Bello.

S/O to ducks2798 for reminding me of this. It's very likely that Sogard was scratched when the Devers trade became a legit possibility. My guess is he's up for the Seattle series, until Abreu is activated Friday.

I crunched the numbers today on the times I saw Rafael Devers live, minors and majors. Overall, 12 G, 21 for 51, 2 2B, 1 3B, 9 HR, 4 BB, 7 K, .411/.455/1.020 5 MiLB games, 9 for 17, 1 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, .529/.579/1.412. and that's dragged DOWN by an 0/5 in April 2016
