This pandemic has already revealed that: - schools are so much more than just schools. - many people now realize how tough it is to be a teacher and that teachers are grossly underpaid. - teachers are irreplaceable and essential to learning and education. #homeschooling

Not sure why the need to announce canceling school now for the whole year. Even if that’s plan. 2 weeks at a time. Give kids & parents some hope. Most educators I know would take one day in June if it meant seeing their kids one last time. #thatonekid

This!!! While created with the best of intentions, each day leaves teachers, parents, and -most importantly- students feeling like failures. It’s time to reevaluate and consider best practices during these crazy times. I fear for the long term repercussions on our kids.

Please don’t claim to care about the mental health of students then mandate standardized tests in the middle of a pandemic.

That’s why we need to frame lessons so our students do the work. Our work is in the preparation!

I love how my co-teacher surrounded the classroom library with photos of each student reading. In these photos, choice is honored and every single student’s identity as a reader is honored. ❤️
