It strikes me that #StarTrekTNG 's Code of Honor (S0103) - yes THAT episode - is very 2025 USA in it's apparent views. Which is sad... (Even though it would've been viewed as very backward in its views and attitudes in The Original Series in 1966, let alone TNG in 1987)

Two countries. Two charts. A very similar (and concerning) trend. ………….. Can you think of anything that happened in 2020 which is still affecting huge swathes of people on an ongoing basis and which may help explain this worrying trend? /1

COVID-19 can cause lasting frontal lobe damage, leading to brain fog, emotional dysregulation, and cognitive deficits. Mechanisms include inflammation, strokes, and hypoxia; recovery is partial, with risks of long-term neurodegeneration. docs.google.com/document/d/e/2…

Sometimes the frontal lobe damage can result in cognitive decline akin to dementia. Yes, it can happen to children of any age. The worst outcome is for the children whose brains aren’t even fully developed. All of your memories fade away and you can’t connect with old photos

It's a staggering covincidence that there has been such a sudden rise in the number of people living with a disability at the same time as there is a pandemic of a virus that causes disability. x.com/i/status/20017…

I know. I'll post this and no one will see it or share it. It's just the rolling annual total of NHS England Staff dying. The media won't mention it The government will stay silent about it Doctors will pretend it's not real But it's real. Tell me: When did the pandemic end?

If they did this, it'd be really nice, since they could give him some decent stories. (I think the disney money interfered too much with the show, and some time/distance and a mild reboot would be good)

Star Wars will be 50 years old next year. That means Star Wars will be as old next year, as Metropolis (1927) was when Star Wars came out... (Relevant because C3PO was often compared visually to Maria (the robot form) at the time, especially in "Robot" books for kids)
