I've been posting a lot about Kei (3yo)'s progress learning math, but specifically in the past two days he's said two things that really took me by surprise: "6 times 14 equals 84." And: "10 to the power of 0 equals 1."

Kei (3yo): 80 is big number. 8 is small number. Me: Alright, Kei. Kei: Negative 1 million is big number or small number? Me: Umm, I would say that it has a big magnitude, but it's less than zero. Kei: Negative 1 million is chū-kurai (medium).

This game we made, Fruitarian, seems to be Kei (4yo)'s favorite these days. Lately he chooses it over any other game I've tried with him. pcksgames.com/fruitarian/ It's rather simple, but a good way to practice moving a cursor and counting.
