I love discussing setting in fiction during the library lessons. For example, what is the significance of the salt marsh as the setting of this (amazing) book by Hilary McKay? Year 8 students have given very thoughtful answers.
My students and I have just received this card by Hilary McKay with Keith Robinson 's artwork and I am over the moon. Thank you!!

A group of year 7's have created their own comic magazine inspired by The Phoenix comic. It's called Banana Tree Comix, and Issue N 2 has just been released! It is an absolute delight: full of stories, colours, adventure and laughter. Long live #comics!!
Some of the spectacular comics submitted by our year 7-9 students for the competition “What’s in the creepy room?”. (There is a tiny, creepy door in the library and nobody knows what’s beyond). More for you, The Phoenix comic!
