Northampton 1290: One chilly morning, the bustle of the market place is interrupted by the knifing of a vagabond. A young knight from the Welsh borders, loyal to King Edward but with sympathy for the rebels of Gwynedd, sets out to find the culprit in spite of his military duties.

OK the Flash Fiction competition is now closed. If you still have a succinct literary gem to send, it will have to wait till 2025. Now our judges must assess the huge number entries in time for the winner to be revealed at the Southam Book Festival on 13th October.
