Why did I want to learn? My great-grandfather was a native Gaelic speaker from Malaig Bheag but when he went to school he was belted for speaking it and told to speak English. I want to pass on to my children the language which was denied to me growing up. #IsMiseGàidhlig

I was born and brought up in the Highlands, yet without any access to #Gaelic at school. I started learning in my twenties and then did an immersive year at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. Now barely a day goes by that I don't speak or hear Gaelic. #IsMiseGàidhlig
