Hike the Little River Trail. It is in the historical Elkmont area with remnants of homes before the park was built. The trail itself used to be a railroad bed for the logging companies in the area. It’s great for families. NPS Photo

Many flowers can be found along roadsides, including these red columbines. As you enjoy, please remember to #RecreateResponsibility. Do your part by parking only in designated parking lots and keeping the roadsides litter free! PC Kristina Plaas

The new traffic signal located on Highway 66 at Gateway Blvd is now operational. The City would like to remind motorists that although the traffic signal is operational, the new Buc-ee's located on Gateway Boulevard will not be opening until June 26.

A 1.8 mile (one way) hike through the forest will bring you to the grassy Andrews Bald, named for the cattle herder, Andres Thompson, who brought livestock up here in the 1840s. Depending on the time of year, hikers can find patches of blackberries and raspberries! NPS Photo
