I cant even imagine what it would be like to exist in a world where you believe the BPD argument is confined to twitter. That the BPD label hadn't contaminated your life, almost killed you, killed your friends & destroyed the possibility of you receiving proper care. What a world

For example, I just made myself a cup of tea and I can pause to reflect on my past when I spent 4 months homeless in hospital with no access to a kettle. Then when I drink my tea I appreciate and value it more. I have many similar examples in other aspects of my life.

I have and will spend the remainder of my weekend taking stock of my busy week. It's strange going from minimal activity to an intensive week. There were times when my mood was teetering on the brink of hypomania but I think I managed it well by listening to my body. Rest is key

Having a bit of a wobble tonight. Worried that I have been a bit exuberant over the last couple of weeks and feeling an impending sense of shame.

The great thing about my course is that when I am feeling discombobulated I can write and feel no guilt that this is not a productive use of my time. I am legitimately meant to be writing and reading as much as I can!

Relieved to find out I have my driving licence for another year and my pip has been extended for another 4. All these weights off my mind being lifted is very helpful.

Can you like this post if you’re autistic or have an autistic child, and you have a cat. I want to do my dissertation on cats and autism (not sure what exactly yet), but was wondering how many people I could get to answer a questionnaire for me 😺

If anyone is or knows a dog sitter in Kentish Town who can have a boisterous dog from early on Tuesdays please let me know because it is absolutely killing me working out the logistics of getting Kel to various north London locations then getting to uni

The biggest threat to mental health in this country isn’t ‘too generous’ benefits discouraging work. It’s a cruel, dehumanising system that treats people as worthless for being workless, leaving many oscillating between utter despair and hypervigilant brown envelope terror.

Dr Jay Watts (@shrink_at_large) 's Twitter Profile Photo

As a consultant clinical psychologist, lets just be clear on the evidence, Starmer. If you want people to do well, uplift them. That means treating people with dignity, decent benefits one can live on without worry, not casting moral aspersions on people. Sanctions do not work.

Dr Jay Watts (@shrink_at_large) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Starmer’s ‘no stone unturned’ on benefits claimants? Dangerous. Claimants are already *hounded for years* to prove they’re not faking it, even when clinicians scream ‘Enough!’. This isn’t about catching cheats—it’s reinforcing a system breaking people who are already struggling.

Unfortunately, many things could exacerbate suicidal thoughts. Some of these, like medication, people/professionals, and treatment from authority figures, are meant to help those struggling but also could be detrimental. Don’t be afraid to get help. Just proceed with caution.

The best mental health professionals help you hold your pain and can soothe you with this interaction. The worst are those who are unwilling to listen and move quickly to diversion techniques. Truly is there anyone who has been saved by a cup of chamomile tea or a walk?

IB (@recoverib) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is it. I can manage diversion and distraction by myself. What I need from professionals is my pain being held, their curiosity and willingness to listen and explore. We need to go into the stuff I can't face alone. It's really not rocket science, guys.
