The Netherlands now has nationwide availability of prehospital ECPR! From today, our #HEMS team of Amsterdam is equipped with #ECMO as part of the OnScene trial. Now all Dutch HEMS can provide ECPR. 🚁🇳🇱 More info on onscenetrial.com And check out youtu.be/3hCBeQ6FsSM?si…

A recent article was widely shared supporting data for physician led prehospital teams, but how robust was the underlying data and how big an effect is it really? Read more here. #FOAMed Saint Emlyn's remains skeptical stemlynsblog.org/jc-do-physicia…

Great to see better protocols for use of POCUS in CA But if you have a good view of the femoral artery, then put a needle in it, wire it and measure the invasive BP. No need for Doppler and it will give you continuous real time info

Sepsis is far more complicated than a management interplay of antibiotics and IV fluids. I found this article fascinating as 10-70% of patients develop cardiac dysfunction. 🎩 tip to the authors. eddyjoemd.com/foamed

I used to think good medicine meant following the evidence down to the footnote. Strict hierarchies, structured algorithms, meta-analyses as gospel. But over time, I realized that the human body—and the human experience—rarely fits the chart.

Sepsis management is far from cookie-cutter. Guidelines only get us so far. This paper demonstrates what those of us on the front lines hypothesized was going on with our patients as we witnessed the variability in outcomes. 🎩 tip to the authors. eddyjoemd.com/foamed
