9. A trauma-informed approach isn't abt feeling sorry or making excuses. It is abt understandng that biological states (inc distress) drive human behaviour. If you don't apply this insight, you make things worse. If you don't pay attentn to relationships, you make things worse.

I'm regularly told I shouldn't talk about behaviour in schools because I don't work, and never have worked, in a school. So instead, I'll talk about behaviour outside of school, for children with trauma. Something I have plenty experience of. Some very specific examples. /🧵👇
