Sometimes the labor of securing access—requesting, correcting, reminding, modifying, rescheduling, etc.—is itself an access issue. And whenever access to access is inaccessible, there might as well never have been a promise of access to begin with.

Not a fan of people referring to the needs of 'students with ASD' when I'm sitting in front of them. They know. I know. I refer to myself as autistic but I might as well be invisible. I'm reminded often that I'm not allowed to speak for my people... right before allistics do it.

Finished my last assignment and my exhausted, burnt out brain has launched into creative mode already. Constant deadlines and the physical/social demands of attending classes absolutely decimate my imagination. I wouldn't have this context without my autism diagnosis!

I'm tired of disability orgs upholding the idea that every student should learn to advocate for themselves. Self advocacy is only good in TANDEM with systemic change. These orgs are setting students up for failure bc they cannot shoulder this alone. 1/5

A reminder that you do not ever have to valorise terrible people after their death.

I tried to end my life at 11 years old. All I knew was that I was 'wrong', but I didn't know why. It was undiagnosed autism. The human tapeworms on Twitter claiming autism is 'overdiagnosed' or 'a scam' don't know what they're talking about.
