Rate Amorim highly but yesterdays decision to start Casemiro/Eriksen in midfield was mind boggling. That midfield would have issues against most of the league but never stood a chance against probably the most physical/athletic midfield in the PL - Tonali, Bruno G and Joelinton.

More money than ever in PL but squad planning is declining at the top end of league. Why have Man City gone into a 60 game ssn with one striker & CM's mostly all over 30? Why don't Spurs have competent 3rd/4th choice CB's? Why did Man Utd sign two U23 1st team CF's in 12 months?

Dan Ashworth left Newcastle in fantastic shape. Influential in bringing in a really good pair of full backs (Hall & Livramento), one of the best wingers in the league (Gordon) and one of the best CF's in the world (Isak). Its a shame he didn't get longer to work and shape United.

More often than not there is a player already in the building who can deputise for an injured or departing player or in a problematic position. Sometimes that player can even be an upgrade. Top clubs especially need to trust their youth talent more.

That Trent performance should be filed in the folder 'Worst performances from top RB's'. Absolute passenger out of possession.

You won't see many worse performances from a RB who is considered top class. Really interested to see how Madrid navigate Trent's liabilities in the XI. He presents a unique problem as a RB in that you have to find a way to accommodate for him off the ball like he's a winger.

Neymar probably has an agenda here but this type of propaganda from Cristiano and co is scandalous. Saudi Pro League isn't anywhere near the Belgium Pro League, let alone Ligue 1.

Isak is simply that guy. Gone to Old Trafford, White Hart Lane & Emirates in 8 days and put on a clinic in centre forward play. Last time I remember a player this good in PL not already at a UCL club was Van Dijk at Southampton and we all know how good a purchase he was.

If Arsenal are serious they need to make sure Isak is just taking another tour of the Emirates this evening ahead of a permanent stay in the summer.

Spurs have been terrible this season but drawing 0-0 to Tamworth with an xG of 1.15 might be the worst part. Is that also because Udogie, Romero and vDV are injured?

There's a really good player in Zirkzee in the right system. He's not a 25-30 goal season CF in a top league. But his link up and associative play is genuinely outstanding and he would work brilliantly with high output wingers. Like a Totti under Spalletti or 2016-18 Benzema.

Havertz on course for another mega 13-15 PL goal season, has an xG of > 2.1 without scoring in cup defeats v Newcastle & United and missed the crucial pen in shootout. The idea that Havertz is the no.1 CF for a title chasing club in 2025 is comical.

Always fascinated about 'blind spots' or bad judgements some managers have at different times. Fergie couldn't identify and sign a CM between 2010-13. You couldn't pay Wenger to sign a quality CB 2012-18 & now Arteta is 5 yrs in and hasn't brought in a single top class attacker.
