These amazing 5th graders just delivered the most inspirational TED Talks on stage at the Cary Arts Center! I know they will do amazing things in the future because they confidently shared an idea worth spreading to a full auditorium. So proud! ♥️

We were so lucky to have Sarah, a Cary Academy debate team member, speak to a group of 5th graders preparing for their own debates. Some key takeaways from her presentation were to be prepared, understand both sides of a topic, and be confident!@cary_elementary

Debate #1: Should plastic water bottles be banned? Both sides came prepared with evidence to present their case, rebuttal, and closing argument. So impressed with these 5th graders! Cary Elementary

Celebration donuts 🍩 for completing their debates against one another. Should kids have social media accounts? Should we move to a 4 day school week? Do professional athletes get paid too much? Both sides presented strong cases. I see some future lawyers! Cary Elementary
