Finished the day with some musical coding adventures at #edtechsa 🎶 Coding, maths, and music seem to go together quite nicely 😉

Thanks Tina Photakis and #edtechsa committee for putting on a fantastic conference (and awesome catering too, I might add)! Had a great time, but so looking forward to a sleep-in tomorrow 😅

Hello fellow educators. I need some help... Anyone know of any networks in Australia for Vietnamese teachers? Really struggling to find one! #aussieED #includedau

Hey all, Dina from Adelaide. Where it's so so so so SO cold... I wouldn't even know where to begin guessing... Several thousand?? #includEDau

A1 - I went to high school with lots of international students. I think most came from China. Would definitely have been some at uni, but I didn't befriend them. My school currently has international students, two of which are in my classes #includEDau

A3 - I imagine finances may also be an issue. They don't exactly have parents (if young) on hand, and I believe there are work restrictions on their study visas #includEDau

A5 - I think I'm a bit of a pessimist sometimes, when it comes to changing stereotypes. The media and entertainment industries are constantly perpetuating these, unintentionally doing more harm than good #includEDau

A6 - I feel like one of the main issues might be different teaching and learning methods. A lot of schools in Asian countries still use rote learning methods, and those students may not be used to inquiry-based learning #includEDau

A7 - As hard as it may be, international students need to put themselves out there. Get involved in school clubs/events, join community clubs, just networking in general. Younger students can be supported in this by their host families #includEDau

A8 - I think it's a great opportunity for their host families, and communities, to learn about other cultures, and broaden their world view #includEDau
