The 2nd most populous city in Italy hosted a pilot project using e-cargo bikes instead of vans, and found the companies reduced delivery times 23% and reduced operating costs 40%. Not bad, huh.

If Rachel Reeves had had the guts to raise fuel duty by 6p/litre she could have raised enough money (£3bn) to make every single bus journey in the UK free for everyone, every day, every year.

The climate crisis is too big and too important a problem to be in the hands of those who o may think in 4-5 year cycles. We’re doomed!

Apple so often shouts about how Macs are used by visual artists and musicians. So… It makes no sense to me that Display and Sound settings are relatively limited. Display scaling should be better. So should how macOS handles sound from various apps and to various outputs.

This seems just a little more disruptive than some protestors sat in the road… The climate crisis is real. And we’re not even at the worst of it.

AirPrint is probably the best printing experience out there. But it’s still more reliable to print using a BambuLab printer than an HP one…

Our current energy system is extremely wasteful. More than 2/3 of primary energy inputs end up as waste heat. Yet the customer has to pay for all of the energy in the left hand side of this chart to get the small amount of energy converted to energy services.

Apparently going THREE TIMES the speed limit in a residential area. (Over 100 mph) A crash at that speed is 9x the energy of a vehicle doing the speed limit. (Scales with square of velocity) Thats’t not “pretty stupid”, that’s reckless and extremely dangerous.

“Who knows what next week” I was involved in the first wind prediction tool development that is now really advanced. NESO has detailed wind modelling for the next hours and days. The grid copes just fine week in week out. This endless hysteria is tiresome.

2024 will be the warmest year on record. ~ 25% of Greenhouse Gas emissions is from transport ~ 75% of all transport emissions is from road transport ~ 2/3 of road transport emissions is from cars ~ 1/2 of all car trips is < 5 km and can easily be done by bike. Just sayin’

Highlighting these figures again. Total area used for agricultural production in England is 8.7 million hectares. Of that 3600 hectares used for solar panels ie 0.04%. Don't fall for misinformation about renewables. gov.uk/government/sta…
