It would’ve been really easy for the Fetterman campaign to lean into ableism after his stroke, And instead he and the campaign addressed the reality that millions of Pennsylvanians and Americans have had health crises, just like he did, and deserve the life saving care he got —

Especially up against Dr. Oz, who made his name and his money off horrific ableism and peoples fear of being disabled. The Fetterman win is a win against ableism, both Oz’s own and the narrative around his stroke.

The BBC have branded Prince Harry's new memoir Spare "The weirdest book ever written by a royal". Which is a great excuse to tell you that in 1597 King James VI & I published the Daemonologie, a book on necromancy, black magic, and how to find, test, and punish witches.

Anybody who is complacent about book bans, & censorship like, “oh it’s okay the kids can get them somewhere else it’s fine”, truly do not comprehend the extent to which democracy is presently under attack. Just because it does not affect you, does not mean that there is no effect

A 10-year-girl in Delaware picked up “It’s Perfectly Normal” while at the library with her mother. When they came home, she showed her mom the chapter on sexual abuse and said, “This is me.” She was being abused by her father, and it was the first time she’d spoken about it.

Watching Gen Z men veer right hits different for Millennials. We lived through Columbine, 9/11, the Iraq War, 2008 crash, 2016 election, covid, abortion bans, & now this. We watched institutions repeatedly fail us while older generations selfishly protected the status quo. 🧵1/
