I’m not 100% on PRs, but the results say the Bulldog long jumpers of Zweigart and Smith went 3rd & 6th respectively with each nailing a PR performance tonight. That’s the good stuff you two. Way to go!

I am pretty darn sure both Starek sisters posted season bests in the 2-hundie this evening. Marie went on to grab 6th in a photo finish 4x200 w/ Smith, Zlatic & Zweigart. Staying hot - Zweigart, Smith, Zlatic & Schulte nailed down 6th in the 4x100. Lots of speed for the Bulldogs!

That 4x400 crew knows the special buzz around the last event of a meet. Crank up the tunes & turn them loose to bring a track meet home. The Bulldogs pair Espenschied w/ Smith, Zlatic, and Zweigart for this one, & they answered the call with an outstanding 3rd place finish! 💥

Zweigart - Smith - Wilhelm - Zlatic left it all on the track in the 4x200 putting up a school record time of 1:45:40. While not moving on to tomorrow’s final, these athletes should be thrilled with that effort. Another busted school record here in Charleston!

Boy oh boy does the competition get tough when you’re fortunate enough to make it to the State meet. Smith -Willhelm - Thorsten - Zlatic had a season best time in the 4 x 400 of 4:05. That was a fraction of a second outside of the finals tomorrow. Still an amazing effort!

Congratulations to Senior Kristin Smith on moving into the top 10 of our All-Time Scoring list. Kristin’s 19 points in a conference win at Jersey tonight puts her at 686 career points. She moves past former teammate Liv Colson (670 pts). Nice Job Kristin!

Time flies, my first Freshmen had their Senior Night. Words can’t describe how proud I am of these two. They are leaving this program better than they found it. Both 4 year varsity players that provided many great memories and a strong example to follow. Thank you Kristin & Kate!

The final shot of Kristin Smith’s legendary career. Kristin scored 20 pts in her final game. 886 Career points puts her 7th all-time in scoring. One of the greatest defenders in school history. As reliable as it gets, Kristin was a 4 year starter who made 122 career starts.

That girls relay team of Smith-Zlatic and Zweigart joined teammate Thorsten to run a nifty second place 4x400 at the end of the day. They were good enough to be the new Illinois top 50 for the season with that effort. Love to see that!!

The players voted Kristin Smith as our Defensive Player of the Year. Kristin has been a cornerstone defensively for 4 years with the versatility to do anything we needed. She was asked to face guard, match up with opponent’s best player, or play key spots on our zone defenses.

Another monster school record time as well for this relay team. They had an incredible run at the end of the season. What a way to send off seniors Smith and Thorsten in style. Congratulations gang!!
