Second reading of the Terrorism Bill, 14 December 1999. Home Secretary Jack Straw responds to a query about proscription by referring to it as an "extreme power" "used only in very specific circumstances," like the armed conflict in the north of Ireland.

I can't believe the NYT tried to find out if Mamdani's family ever intermarried with indigenous Ugandans and then mentioned his family all married within the Gujarat community there. Incredible detail that I don't think is being discussed enough in all of this. Truly vile.

If course the BBC has tweeted this local news story to its national audience and has not corrected this tweet when the story turned out to be bollocks.

The government couldn't even answer whether Palestine Action's own lawyers would be breaking the law by continuing to represent them if the proscription comes into effect. Shambolic.

Know that this Home Secretary would have banned the Suffragettes. End arms sales to Israel. End the genocide. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

Historian William Dalrymple said the new Gaza documentary "shows the reason why Israel will not let journalists in: the unprecedented war crimes that the IDF commit everyday" pulse.ly/5gnrblqh6q

Anyone watching, ‘Gaza: Doctors under attack’, can’t have a jot of respect left for Israel. It exposes the evil at the core of the IDF. Once seen it haunts you. Showing it was a moral imperative yet the BBC still cannot see its failure.

I think property damage and sabotage are legally justifiable if the goal is to disrupt an ongoing genocide, and British juries have repeatedly agreed with me. I don't think property damage and sabotage to disrupt a genocide are terrorism, and don't believe anyone really does.

Irene Mbugua was a mum-of-4 from Kenya who came to the UK to do care work. Sadly she was found dead at the Birmingham home of one of her clients. He's been charged with her murder. I only found out about this on Facebook as her killing has had little publicity. May she RIP ❤️🙏🏾

This is what radicalisation looks like: getting crankier and crankier, and increasingly focusing on your phone friends who understand you because you’re too wacky to maintain relationships with people you actually know, which makes you even more cranky. Trumpers behave like this.
